Hello Bandits!

With our year end banquet in the books – our 2023/24 Indoor Season has officially come to a close. We would once again like to thank all of our volunteer coaches – who are the lifeblood of a successful youth sports organization and we truly believe we have a fantastic working staff in place that is getting better each year.

Year End Results – This year we had 12 teams compete in the OVA across 6 age divisions (13u-18u). Our teams finished in the top 5 in the entire province in 5 of the 6 age divisions with 17 National and 15 National taking home the D1T1 Silver medals for 2nd overall. Our Bandit teams were a force throughout most of the OVA regular season with many top finishes and tournament titles. We are committed to running high quality teams at every level that are extremely competitive.  Three teams competed in Pittsburgh for the East Coast Championships in May in the “Beast of the East” – Open Division. 17 National took home 2nd place overall, 16 National finished 5th and 15 National placed 11th in the season ending event.

18u Graduates – once again, we would like to wish our graduating players the best of luck as they move on with their careers on and off the court. These girls have been tremendous ambassadors for the club!

Ontario Volleyball High Performance – we had an impressive 14 Bandits selected to the different OVA High Performance programs. Juliana Miecz, Lauren Essenpreis and Maija Nepszy were selected to the Team Ontario Black (17u) program. Anisa Lapointe, Grace Paterson, Sienna Jancevski, Rachel Ricketts, Sophia Nepszy and Makenna McCann were selected to the Team Ontario Red (16U) program. Hannah Hage, Isabella Cole, Lily Soulliere and Emery Stapleton were selected to the Team Ontario White (15u) program. Izzy DiStefano was selected to the Team Ontario Regional Program. Best of luck to you all with your training opportunities this summer!

Jimmy El-Turk –  coach Jimmy will once again be our High Performance Co-ordinator who will be responsible for organizing and running our High Performance training sessions. Jimmy will also be providing additional training opportunities for all members of the club as well.

Megan Kalbfleish – congrats goes out to Megan for being named the Assistant Volleyball Coach of the University of Guelph Women’s Volleyball program. We wish Coach Meg the best of luck in her new role and we look forward to following her progress.

Planning for next year – as everything gets worked out and organized over the coming months, we will announce the details as they become available. Coaching staffs, tryout information will be posted once it becomes finalized. We hope to have things posted by early August.

We wish everyone a fantastic summer on the beach, golf course, soccer pitch, ball diamond or simply getting some much deserved R and R and look forward to seeing everyone back in the gym next fall!

Yours in Volleyball,
